1.
（dìng） ér zǒu xiǎ
（鋌）而走險
Take the risk
xíng róng yóu yú zǒu tóu wú lù ér bèi pò cǎi
qǔ mào xiǎn xíng wéi。
形容由於走投無路而被迫採取冒險行為。
Described as desperation forced to take risky behavior.
xǔ duō rén yīn wèi wú fǎ shēng huó xià qù，
許多人因為無法生活下去，
Many people cannot live,
zuì hòu dìng ér zǒu xiǎn chéng wéi zéi rén。
最後鋌而走險成為賊人。
Finally, desperate to become thieves.
2.
bù （ jìng ） ér zǒu
不（脛）而走
Messages do not have feet, but are quick to send out
shì qíng méi yǒu zhāng yáng， xùn sù chuán dì
kāi qù。
事情沒有張揚，迅速傳遞開去。
Things are not advertised, fast delivery go through.
méi yǒu xuān chuán xíng dòng ，qíng bào què chuán bō liú xíng de hěn kuài。
沒有宣傳行動，情報卻傳播流行得很快。
No publicity operations, intelligence have spread rapidly popular.
zhāng xiān shēng hé lǐ xiǎo jiě jié hūn de xiāo xī， jǐ tiān zhī nèi jǐ jīng bú jìng ér zǒu。
張先生和李小姐結婚的消息，幾天之內己經不脛而走。
Mr. Zhang and Ms. Li marriage news has spread like wildfire within a few days.

yán bù jí （ yì ）
言不及（義）
The content of speech, no moral principles
xiàng bié rén shuō huà de shí hòu ，méi yǒu
shuō chū shuō huà nèi lǐ de hán yì。
向別人說話的時候，沒有說出說話內裏的含意。
When speaking to others, did not say the meaning of words inside
shuō huà nèi róng wán quán bú shè jí zhǔ tí huò zhèng jīng de dào lǐ。
說話內容完全不涉及主題或正經的道理。
The content of speech does not involve subject or decent reason

（ yì ） zài yán wài
（意）在言外
The real meaning of words is implied, not to speak out clearly
shuō huà de yì tú suī rán méi yǒu míng bái shuō chū ，dàn què lìng rén xīn lǐng shén huì。
說話的意圖雖然沒有明白說出，但卻令人心領神會。
Although there is no intention to speak out to understand, but people take the hint.

yǒu shì qíng méi fǎ jiě jué，
有事情沒法解決 ，
There are things that cannot solve
xiǎn lù chū yōu chóu de miàn róng。

（yōu） róu guǎ duàn
（優）柔寡斷
Hesitated to deal with things, no decision
bàn shì bù guǒ duàn、 chí yí bù jué ，méi yǒu jué xīn jiě jué shì qíng。
辦事不果斷、遲疑不決，沒有決心解決事情。
Do not act decisively, hesitation, lack of determination to resolve the matter.

（ yú ） ròu bǎi xìng
（魚）肉百姓
Perform acts of violence to bully people
duì dài lǎo bǎi xìng dàng zuò「 yú ròu」。
對待老百姓當作「魚肉」。
Treat people as "fish."

形容女子態度大方，氣度不凡，行為舉止表現出高貴的外表。
Describe women's generous attitude, grace, noble behavior show appearance.

zǒu （ tóu ） wú lù
走（投）無路
Caught in a difficult situation, cannot find a way out
xíng róng mǒu yì rén wù， xiàn yú jué jìng， méi yǒu dào lù kě yǐ táo bì。
形容某一人物，陷於絕境，沒有道路可以逃避。
Describe a character, desperate, there is no way to escape.
lǐ xiān shēng zǒu tóu wú lù， zài chéng shì lǐ shú rén yòu shǎo ，zhǐ hǎo zài lù biān mài huà wéi shēng。
李先生走投無路，在城市裏熟人又少，只好在路邊賣畫為生。
Mr. Lee was desperate, with little acquaintance in the city, had to sell paintings for a living on the roadside.

仗義（執）言
To be fair to say the words of justice
zhǔ chí zhèng yì， shuō huà gōng dào。
主持正義，說話公道。
Justice, to speak fair.
tā shì yì míng rè xīn cháng de rén， yuàn yì wèi péng yǒu zhàng yì zhí yán。
他是一名熱心腸的人，願意為朋友仗義執言。
He is a warm-hearted people willing to speak out for friends.
